"Not suitable for child nor for adults"

About: The Speedwell Practice

I am registered with this GP practice for one year and a half.

They are not responsible not only for adults but also for child.

My experience as an adult: I had a pain in my stomach. I called the GP on March 2020 and the DR wrote an ultrasound test. I never received the details of the test they lost it. There were no records on their suystems. Again I requested the test and after one year in Feb 2021, I went for the test. The Dr who has done the test said she doesn't see any serious problem. But there were no following up from the GP. If the pain resulted from a serious problem like cancer I was likely to die because I needed to wait for one year for a simple ultrasound test. I should say that the pain still continues.

Experience for my child: I have a two year old girl. They never visit her in person and never asked about her growing up. They even dont call or visit for her one year old visit. No one care about her and there were not any Dr that I can bring her to visit and tell me if her growing up us good or no. Now I am writing with cry ed because I understood that she is at the very buttom of growing up diagram.

Even the health visitors didn't call me when she was one year old.

I am completely feels unsupported with my daghter health and very disappointed.

An unsupported mum with no family in the UK.

We are sorry you felt the need to leave a negative review rather than contact the practice directly so we could look into your concerns and help you understand the way we work and our limited resources.

Please email our practice manager with your details so we can review call recordings and review your records.

When patients are referred for tests such as an ultrasound, they are requested electronically at the time of the appointment and sent directly to the hospital. Unfortunately during the first lock down there were many investigations put on hold, which I am sure you can appreciate was out of our control and not a reflection on the service provided by the practice.

If your tests results were normal but you continued to experience pain, then you do have a right to book another appointment to further explore the problem.

We do not routinely call patients in for a review who have no underlining health conditions. However we would have contacted you to book your child’s immunisations.

Child development checks are carried out by health visitors and not the GP. Please contact your local health visitors on 020 8200 2500. You can find more information here https://www.barnet.gov.uk/health-and-wellbeing/pregnancy-and-childrens-health/health-visiting

If you have health concerns regarding your child you can book an appointment.
