Around the end of May I had excruciating earache.
I phoned the doctors and was given an appointment ended up seeing a practice nurse who looked in my ear and said I had an ear infection and gave me some stuff to squirt
In it,that was on a Friday.
Over the weekend I had really really bad earache so phoned the doctor on the Monday morning and got an appointment and saw a doctor at Par surgery in Cornwall.
She looked in my ear and said I had an ear infection changed my medication and gave me some very strong painkillers and referred me to Treliske hospital which took about two weeks before I saw anybody.
Bye then the infection is cleared up but I saw this wonderful lady who had this amazing machine and cleaned my ears out and discovered I had a perforated eardrum.
Then made me an appointment to see her again in four weeks time.
When I saw the next time I had another perforation in my eardrum bigger than before.
Then I went to see them again today and my perforated eardrum was bigger.
And she’s made me an appointment to be seen in October with her to see how I’m getting on.
She has referred me to an ear nose and throat specialist but said it could be months before I saw anybody . And she might see me again in October before I even saw the specialist.
It seems such a long and drawn out business and I’m quite deaf in my left ear.
The ladies at the hospital were absolutely brilliant and they have this wonderful machine I just feel that I’m never going to get this thing sorted out why does it all take so long.
Just for the record I’m a 74-year-old man in normal good health
