After the doctor finally calling me in (after arriving to the trust later than the appointment and also 40 mins later than the allotment time) he told me to come in and take a seat. He then walked out and said I won’t be a minute. Another knock at the door and it was the duty nurse on outpatients who sternly asked “what are you doing here” so I explained I was asked in, “you shouldt be here”she barked… again I said but I was asked in… “can you kindly get out”she asked. Now I get the reason (peoples files in the office and also appreciate I was in short and have a shaved head, but I have zero interest in other peoples records and felt I was made to feel I was being held accountable for being there - call me old school, but when a doctor calls you in and asks you to take a seat that’s kind of what you do.
On reflection I was made to feel like a common oik who was there to do wrong rather than an honest member of the public about to have a rather unpleasant prostate examination.
Bad experience all round.
