I went to the accident and emergency department of Daisy Hill Hospital on Friday morning. I was there all day and eventually got admitted to a ward. It was then decided by the medical team that a transfer to Craigavon Hospital was in order. I waited for 7 hrs before an ambulance was available to transfer me to Craigavon. This was a very long wait but understandably the ambulance service was extremely busy on that night so I had no choice but to be patient. The hospital staff in Daisy hill were great in that they regularly informed me about delays to the ambulance transfer meaning I knew to expect a long wait before I could be moved to Craigavon hospital. The staff in Craigavon have been very helpful, kind and attentive. They are very hard working and seem completely run off their feet.
My ward is comfortable however extremely warm. I cannot complain however as I know fans are not allowed due to infection control.
The food is alright. I am quite a picky eater so haven't got on that well with it but I am happy enough with it overall. To conclude, the staff ae brilliant and couldn't do enough for you.
"Staff are brilliant"
