The midwifes recently supported my husband and I with the birth of our first child. I was really reassured and comforted by the caring and attentive care and advice from Julie and Fiona leading up to the birth (our local midwives from Laurencekirk). On the day labour started they were on hand checking we were ok and offering moral support.
Our birth plan was to deliver in the Aberdeen Midwife led unit and we were very happy that there was space for us there on our child’s birth day. Again, the midwives guiding us through the delivery were exceptional. Kay and Holly were warm, kind, level headed and quickly put us at ease. This led to a smooth and swift delivery with a happy and healthy mum and baby. Despite the unit being very busy that night they took the time to regularly check we were ok, happy and comfortable. We will never forget them.
On returning home with baby our local midwives again did a fantastic job - no question was too small or silly. They were full of encouragement and great advice to help us settle into our new life as a family of 3. Thank you for the great job - it has meant the world to us!
