"Great Surgical Team while other support mixed"

About: Spire Cheshire Hospital

I had a total hip replacement in June here, pre op etc all seemed to go well although found out later I'd not been given some supporting exercise info at phsyio preop? Anyway day of my surgery, couldn't fault, surgeon and theatre staff on the day. Made me feel relaxed and that was even before sedation, later shortly after my procedure, I needed a bleed attending to thanks to my over ambitious moves once feeling returned up my legs. Sister and others very efficient in handling this. Not convinced there was always good communication between nursing shifts as these handed over about my status. My catheter was removed but overnight no one asked did I need a bottle so was up and down numerous times on the zimmer frame to the bathroom as I didn't think to ask. Anyway bleed dealt with, phsyio appearance to face walking with crutches then the stairs, no problem and that was Sunday after procedure Friday afternoon. Monday repeat stairs and in between I'd been walking up and down the corridor on crutches, in trouble for having no shoes on as could slip on the DVT socks, fair point. Physio asked about exercises I'd been given at pre op ? Explained not been given anything and just had what had previously been posted to me from Spire. Physio went away to get me a copy of whatever, never reappeared? After discharge I telephoned to follow this up, whoever I spoke with said they'd relay the message but never heard anything back.

Recently been back from the 6 week follow up and Consultant happy with my progress as is NHS Physio at Halliwell Jones although only seen him once face to face due to current situation. Following an exercise regime which is a combination of posted information from Spire and NHS provided regime.
