I arrived up to the emergency department last week because I felt quite sick- I was freezing but also sweating at the same time. I was shown into the triage room where I got my blood pressure done, a urine test and had a blood sample taken after waiting nearly an hour and a half. I was then told it would be a 2 hour wait until I got my results and was admitted into the emergency department. I stayed overnight in the emergency department however it was quite uncomfortable as I had no pillow even after I asked a member of staff if I could get one. I was then moved up to the female medical ward where I got a few more tests done and I have been here since. The staff on the ward are great, especially the day staff! The catering staff forgot to give me my soup for lunch and even though I told the nurses not to worry about it Geraldine went out of her way to go and get me my soup which I really appreciated. The night staff don't seem to be quite as attentive and my tray from dinner was left in my room overnight and not collected until the morning but overall my experience so far has been grand.
