"Keep me well informed"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 3 South Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Unfortunately I fell down the stairs as I lost my balance and hit my head. I was worried as I have a brain tumour.

I cannot praise the paramedics enough. The two men were superb in every single way. The way they handled everything and the way they spoke to me was just amazing. They were so reassuring and put me at ease. I felt so safe with them. I cannot thank them enough.

I was brought into 3 South. I was woken up at about 3.30am with someone shouting in my ear that I need to be moved straight away because there was a VIP coming in and they needed my ensuite. They said I had to be moved instantly. I didn't really mind but it was a bit of a shock being woke up for that.

This ward that I am on now is spotless. It is too warm but that is expected when it is very warm outside.

The food is fine and there is enough variety on the menu.

The nurses and doctors are pleasant and keep me well informed. I feel comfortable asking them questions.

I could not fault anyone or anything so far.

Thank you to everyone that has helped me.

Thank you for your feedback on your experience in ward 3 South. I am disappointed to hear this was your experience. We apologise you were awoken in such an abrupt manner, at times we do have to move patients around the ward to facilitate patients for eg with an infection into a side room, but I would expect that this request would be approached in a delicate manner, especially in the early hours of the morning after being woke from your sleep. I will be sure to feedback to the ward and ensure that this is the standard going forward for all patients in our care.
