"We still have not heard anything"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a service user),

My son cannot breath through his nose and has not been able to sleep at night for the last 5 months. He was was seen by his GP who was of the opinion that he has adenoids and needs urgent referral to ENT. After about 2 months still not heard anything. When we enquired we found out that ENT has written back to GP that they don’t need to see him as he is being seen by respiratory physician. This is, however, regarding his pectus excavatum and not regarding his adnoids. There has been no communication with us regarding our son which left us feeling very frustrated about not being able to help him. We have tried to seek advice elsewhere in the UK but this was very difficult due to COVID. Our son continues to suffer being not able to sleep at night and being tired and unsettled during the day. We are desperate to find a solution even if it means travelling elsewhere to have him assessed by an ENT specialist and have his adenoids removed if necessary.
