I have had a 1st class experience on this ward. I was brought in to get my hip replaced after a fall at home. We phoned for an ambulance to take me in and waited quite a long time for them to get to me due to understaffing in the service. Although when they arrived I was reassured and felt comfortable in their care. They took me to A&E where I didn't have to wait long at all for a bed and I was grateful for this.
I think communication between the staff and myself has been outstanding and I never feel afraid to ask questions as I know the staff are willing to answer in as much detail as they can. I honestly can't complain about any element of my stay. The staff are so kind and helpful and are willing to assist me in anyway they can, even in terms of pain relief they have been so good at managing my treatment and care so that I can feel as comfortable as possible. My surgeon was extremely informative and explained every element of my operation to me in great detail. In terms of the ward itself I am fortunate enough to have my own side room which I am very happy with. Overall I really don't have anything negative to say and I am very grateful for all the staff who so far have done such a great job.
