"Surgical Admission"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to ARU 5 with a small bowel obstruction. I was in a lot of pain, and experiencing frequent vomiting, but Nurse Allison in ARU 5 provided the most wonderful care. She was very kind, checked up on me frequently and tried to keep me as comfortable as possible until a doctor could see me. I really appreciated this and cannot thank her enough for this.

I was later moved to Ward 9B where I again received fantastic nursing. I unfortunately cannot remember the names of the nurses who were looking after me. I needed to have an NG tube fitted which proved to be a difficult procedure for me but they comforted me throughout and were very understanding. Throughout my stay on the ward, staff were very attentive making sure I received pain meds and checking up on me regularly. They were also very knowledgable around my stoma and the adjustments/restrictions this brings, I felt like I was in safe hands!
Thank you so much to everyone, I really appreciated it!

Dear eidjjc98

Thanks for getting in touch via Care Opinion to share your thanks and appreciation.

I am sorry to hear about your emergency admission but I am glad to read that Allison was there to support you in the Acute Receiving Unit and the fantastic nursing care in Ward 9B.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with the staff in ARU5 and Ward 9B

I hope you are recovering well.

Best wishes

Nicole
