I work in Social Care & was escorting a service user who experiences mental health issues to the UCC for assessment. The staff on duty were extremely respectful & sensitive to the SU's needs, they recognised the individuals anxiety & ensured their approach was supportive & compassionate.
They took time to explain all of the processes & tests they would like to carry out, whilst ensuring the SU knew that they had a choice to accept these or not. The staff also made me feel very welcome & were inclusive when discussing their procedures, they also encouraged my knowledge & experience of my role with the SU to assist them in their role. (A great example of collaborative work which despite the existence of the Health & Social Care Partnership, can sometimes fall short).
A further visit the following day was met by the same welcoming approach showing consistency & continuity of care. I found this service excellent from the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Staff Nurses, HC Assistants to the Porter escort to X Ray dept. This is a valuable service allowing people to be seen & treated promptly without necessarily needing to be admitted to the hospital. Thank you & well done.
"This is a valuable service"
