I’d like to share my positive pregnancy and birth experience at Peterhead Community Midwife unit to encourage all mums to go there if it’s an option for them. I have received exceptional care right from the very start of my pregnancy. Sheena and Natalie have been so caring and have gone above and beyond to support me every step of the way. I was very anxious this time around following 2 miscarriages after the birth of our son but they put my mind at ease from the first appointment.
All of the staff have been extremely friendly and informative during our scan and antenatal appointments. From my experience Peterhead is a much more personal and calming experience than other hospitals I have attended previously. I had my heart set on a water birth with my son but due to my waters breaking before any contractions started and the risk of infection I was recommended to deliver in Aberdeen - which I absolutely can’t fault at all but was disappointed I didn’t get my planned water birth.
This time around our baby girl kept us waiting for 13 days past her due date but I eventually got my water birth in Peterhead which was every bit as amazing as I’d hoped. Special thanks to Kelly for her outstanding care, who made us laugh and made my husband feel looked after too!
We were made to feel so relaxed and nothing was too much bother after our daughter was born and although I’d breastfed my son it was reassuring to have the support and advice again from all the staff. I could not have asked for a better pregnancy and birth experience and I am extremely grateful to all of the staff at Peterhead CMU.
"THE best place to have your baby!"
