"The standard of administrative organisation"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Gastroenterology Newark Road Surgery

(as a service user),

The standard of care and professionalism of the nursing staff was exceptional. The standard of administrative organisation prior to the visit of was extremely and unbelievably poor.

I was contacted by phone a couple of months before the appointment to confirm the time and place of procedure.

No confirmation was ever sent out

No procedure information

No consent form.

I had to ring the unit on the Friday before the appointment to confirm. I had to ring and arrange my own COVID swab test.

The agreed appointment time was 8:35 Saturday. I turned up at the testing unit who had no trace of my booking. I had to arrange my own blood test to confirm INR to allow procedure to take place from my knowledge of previous visits. Outpatient bookings just put you through to clinic 7 and the phone went dead. I ring the direct number 9 times listened to it ringing for three minutes before it cut off. I rang my own doctor at Newark Rd surgery and was told by the receptionist that the only option was to use their once a week on Thursday INR clinic.

I had to ring the unit again and Nurse very kindly rang the surgery. Who then produced the bloods form for me to take to the hospital. The whole administrative side was completely woeful.
