I was admitted to ARI in July with Sepsis. My experience whilst on the ward was not a good one and I was really upset and anxious.
I would like to thank the young Doctor who had studied in Newcastle now working in ward 103 ARI. I was being given antibiotics intravenously, this was difficult as my veins are not easy to find and after several failed attempts this Doctor very gently succeeded in inserting a Canula. I was anxious that the Canula would come out so he found a roll of cotton wool to make a buffer.
His kindness made a huge difference to me and I'm sure he will be a great Doctor. I would also like to thank the lovely Chinese tea lady and the young porter who made me laugh as he wheeled me backwards along the corridor, I would also like to thank the ex pupil , you made a difference and will go on to be a great nurse.
My treatment continued as a day patient at the ACE department ARI. I was still feeling poorly and worried but my worries disappeared after meeting Kate, Becky and Doctor Katie. My veins hide behind my arteries and again it proved difficult to inset the permanent Canula. They were absolutely brilliant and refused to give up until they were successful. I have honestly never had such a good time whilst undergoing a medical procedure. They were professional, explained what they were doing and I knew that they wouldn't give up. Thank you to the Banchory Line Crew you are the best of the NHS and lovely human beings. You made a difference!
