"Virtual digital care"

About: Community Services in Grampian General Practices in Grampian

(as a service user),

I hurt my fingers after a sporting fall. I used the e-consult service at the Health Centre and requested to see the physio. The First Contact Physio saw me quickly snd gave me some advice and also referred me to the specialist hand physio in Aberdeen. A Near Me call was organised by them. I saw them virtually from my home and they then sent out two therapy items with exercises I then used to improve my finger injury.  A patient initiated review was agreed if I needed any further support.

A wonderful service which allowed me to see the right clinician as close to home and as quickly as possible. I am very grateful to all concerned.

Dear Brochselkie (great username by the way),

Thank you for sharing. This is a great example of how virtual care should work, being efficient, responsive and person-centred.

I would like to make sure I forward your comments to the correct teams - good feedback is always appreciated. If you are happy to, can you forward the name of the health centre you first contacted via e-consult? You can do so on this thread, by email (kirsten.dickson@nhs.scot) or by phone (07885720267).

I hope your fingers are recovering well.

Take care,

Kirsten
