I needed to dispose of my late father's sharps box. My dad had been a patient at the surgery for several years. I explained the circumstances and the Receptionist offered no words of comfort. Instead I was emphatically told by the Receptionist that they don't take them at the surgery and I would need to get in touch with the council. I explained that I didn't live in Portsmouth. While the Receptionist went to seek advise from a nurse another, more aggressive Receptionists told me they would not take the sharpsbox as they were not insured. They had no compassion for my recent loss and offered no practical help by means of a phone number or email address that I could contact. I left feeling totally upset and unsupported at a difficult time.
"Lack of compassion"
