I have never been in hospital before and when I arrived the nurses where brilliant. Louise who is charge of the ward was brilliant she understood how scared I was being in hospital for the first tim
e. She was brilliant, kind and thoughtful and made me laugh all of which meant to the world to me. The student nurse Alexandra
was brilliant, she will make a great nurse as she had all the skills of a good nurse. Margaret who cleans and brings my meals deserves a medal, nothing is too much bother to her, for example I like my tea weak so she brings my water and teabags separately and allows me to make my own tea to my liking. Some of the bank nurses are brilliant. There is a male nurse Aaron who sings all the time which lightens the mood in the ward and everyone asks to see him. Some agency workers can be a bit rough, not all of them but some don't have the same empathy and personal touch as the other nurses, their respect doesn't work both ways. They don't show the same dignity, listening and respect which can be hurtful. The food is dreadful, it is very repetitive and very stodgy, I would like a salad especially since I have low mobility so heavy foods aren't ideal for me.
