"Got the copper coil fitted"

I had the most pleasant experience.

I was due to get the copper coil fitted. Before my appointment I was very apprehensive but when I arrived I was introduced to a wonderful Nurse who took me through the basics (height, weight etc) and made me feel really comfortable. Once done, the Doctor was ready to do the procedure. She was reassuring and talked me through the steps. Getting measured for the IUD was probably the most uncomfortable part but nothing too unpleasant. The Nurse and Doctor made conversation which helped distract and calm me. I didn’t feel the IUD go in and there was no pain. They were so helpful and friendly, I felt really safe.
