"I thought services would be more attentive"

About: Northlands Community Health Centre

(as a friend),

My care under these services was so poor that I moved to access services elsewhere. My friend is under SHSCT and was released from hospital weeks ago and is incredibly unwell, but has had no follow up care, including assistance to ensure she can access her medication.

She is deteriorating because the team won't do anything until she has a care coordinator. They won't give her a timescale.   No interim measures have been made that could - such as a support worker, psychiatrist review as she is unhappy with her medication, or access to a social worker for her complex home life.   Her life was suddenly shattered by a sudden onset of a lifelong psychiatric but weekly calls are all she is being given. Nobody has discussed her diagnosis with her, and when expressing that she had anxiety attacks over using the phone, she is simply repeatedly told that it's her only option to access crisis support.

Hi

I'm really sorry you feel the support for you and your friend was not responsive. I hope you are feeling better and things are improving for you.

I know you are not under the team currently, having accessed support elsewhere, however, I am always keen to hear from people so we are able to learn as a service and try to move resources to where they are required. If you are interested in having talking this through please do not hesitate to contact me at Northlands to book an appointment.

Kind Regards

Jenni Barker
