I have hardly suffered a days illness in my life so you can imagine my shock at the age of 71 when I was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. My world was suddenly turned upside down and initially my future, if at all I had one, looked very bleak.
Having had very little need to call on the NHS for help in the past, it was an organisation that I took pretty much for granted, but not now!. From the day that my GP sent me to the hospital for tests, I have received absolutely fantastic care and whatever my long or medium time future, I shall be eternally grateful to the consultants, doctors, nurses and the whole organisation. My treatment was monthly immunotherapy which I have undergone for almost two years and I feel pretty certain without this fairly new treatment, I don't think I would be here telling my story.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
