In the last few years I have had several health issues including bowel cancer in 2014 which I recovered amazingly from, and having looked after my elderly Mother for five years at home since then, dealing with her dementia and blindness, She passed away in January. I recently felt a bit fragile due to a diagnosis of poymyalgia and on going treatment. I came into Maxillofacial yesterday, for two tooth extractions referred by my dentist. The opinion was that the dentist may have slightly overreacted, but the Department were willing to carry out the treatment anyway. The dental surgeon was excellent and adept at his work, and I did not suffer. It was carried out efficiently. The whole team were so nice. They put me at my ease very much and they knew the area where I live about an hour away, and we discussed various landmarks. Even though I was feeling a bit tense what with the things that had gone on in my life, they dealt kindly with the 'whole' person and sadness about my Mum and some laughs as well. God bless them for what they do. When I phoned up from home a bit panicky about some bleeding, the nurse I had met on the day was kind and talked me through to a healing conclusion. Thank you so much.
