I went into Barnet A&E today with a suspected Quincy. After the initial shock of having to queue outside the entrance without a feel for how long or why, the service I received was really top notch and very human and more than kind. Starting with the reception nurse at A&E, so gentle with a man without voice and hard of hearing. As I was moved through the phases of blood tests, rehydration and then seeing the ENT specialist, I was kept informed and efficiently dealt with at all times. Between phases ward nurses were always checking in on my well-being. The ENT specialist was clearly busy with his buzzer going twice in the 5-10 mins he spent with me. But polite and kind and yet forceful in his message.
I know that your teams are stretched and under extreme covid pressure, but you would never have known this from my experience. Top class. Heroes every single one of them! Many thanks.
"Kind, informative and seamless"
