About: Russells Hall Hospital

My adult daughter went to a&e with her mum, she suffers with sever anxiety and mental confusion. She was told by the reception and a nurse it would be fine for her mum to stay with her as she was in the same household and she showing signs of confusion. However when called in, a different nurse refused to allow anybody to go in with her causing great distress. I understand that times are challenging but it is a management responsibility to ensure that a consistent response is given by everyone by all.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improve patient care, this feedback will be forwarded to the matrons who look after the Emergency Department for them to follow up with their staff and ensure communication and advice is consistent.
