This is a very poor practice in my opinion with no regard to patient care and taking advantage of thier position.
They recently merged with my old surgery with assurances that it would make patient care better. I can say that, it has not.
I am a disabled and clinically vulnerable person.
I phoned to book an advance appointment with my preferred GP and I was flatly told that appointments are only given on the day only after ringing at 8am in the morning, if available. Advance appointments were not possible.
I was really disappointed and felt that it had not been taken into account that some patients (like myself) are put at a disadvantage because of their one size fits all policy.
All I wanted was an advanced appointment, which was always possible previously before this Surgery merged with mine. I could not see any rational reason why it could not be provided. This was denied to me with no reasonable excuse and I felt embarrassed. I am stuck with this Surgery until I can find an alternative, which currently are not available in my area.
