I want to start by saying that the doctors are some of the most friendly, professional, and accommodating that I've ever encountered, and I have nothing but praise for them.
However, the reception staff leave a lot to be desired. Both myself and my partner have been registered here, and we've both had poor experiences. I have been called a liar by the reception staff to my face, when I was told I was inventing a conversation I had had the previous day with reception staff. Calling a patient a liar to their face is obviously unacceptable.
They are frequently impossible to contact - on one occasion I spent over an hour before as "first in line" in the phone queue, which I can only assume was because I called during my lunch break, and nobody could be bothered to pick up the phone, and other times I have been first in line for up to half an hour, also, suspiciously, near lunchtime.
My partner has called to change their nominated pharmacy and was told they were being selfish, unreasonable, and bothering the doctors, which is patently absurd, and left her in tears, and afraid of seeking help again and risk being rebuked again.
These comments are based on over a year registered here, these are not isolated incidents. In general, the reception staff seem to think they know better than patients and sometimes even better than doctors, and see it as their job to prevent access to healthcare as much as is possible.
Lastly, to preempt any comments about how this shouldn't be anonymous, why would I include my name and risk reception staff now having a grudge against me personally. Why do you not action reviews if they're anonymous? Please consider this me addressing this comment directly to the practice manager: this many comments, here and on google, demonstrate a clear pattern. I don't need a conversation with anyone about it, you just need to do better.
"Bad reception staff, go elsewhere if you can"
