My father was cared for on ward 54, Langlands unit, QEUH, Glasgow for several days, prior to his death at the age of 97.
His consultant, Dr Breckenridge, was thorough and considerate. He made a careful assessment and, through a changing picture, kept my father, my brother and myself up to date, with explanation and involvement. The other doctors I encountered there were also helpful, thoughtful and ready to explain.
The nursing staff provided excellent care. They were skilled professionals and also kind, considerate people and it was clear that they took pride in doing a good job.
The ward clerk was approachable and helpful. I encountered consideration from members of the cleaning staff and of the catering team.
He was treated with care and dignity.
Thank you, ward 54.
