"46 weeks wait"

About: WestMARC (Lanarkshire) / Adult Wheelchair Clinic

(as a service user),

46 weeks ago WestMarc came and took the stirrups from my wheelchair to shorten them so I could use the wheelchair properly.   Finally got them back today and I am not pleased at all with the wait or the service.   The person has just dropped the stirrups of, they never checked to see if they fitted correctly.   I use a bed lift to assist me into the chair but need the stirrups for secure transfer, without the stirrups I have been mostly stuck in my bed for weeks.   This is not caring, I haven't been able to sit up or exercise.   This happens every time I get a new wheelchair and that is a waiting game in itself.   Very unhappy with the care and service received.   An occupational therapist was supposed to phone me but hasn't.

Dear volansmy59, I was sorry to hear of your recent experience and length of wait for the stirrups for your wheelchair, which I appreciate would have been distressing for you. As your post is anonymous, I am unable to locate your details and would be grateful if you can contact me on 0300 790 0129, to allow me to look into this on your behalf.

Many thanks and kind regards

Angela
