About: The Highfield Medical Centre

I booked my covid vaccination online and was advised to use this surgery. The nurse who gave the jab was clearly inexperienced as she put the needle in at an angle which was very painful. When I looked later that day I could see that it was more of a scratch than a dot (if it had been put in straight). I’ve had 2 kids so I’m no wimp and I’ve never felt a jab even going in before. She was also not very helpful when I enquired about how safe the jab was when I’m still breastfeeding. I also have no record of the vaccination as they don’t provide a card or anything once you’ve had it done. I don’t even know if she gave me the Pfizer one like I was meant to get. It could have been anything.

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry if you felt that the vaccination experience was different to what you have experienced previously. The vaccination needles are provided specifically for the administration of Covid-19 vaccinations and so are different to normal needles used in general Practice.

In regards to records, your vaccination was recorded in a national system at the time you received your vaccination, which was then subsequently transmitted to your GP surgery. Normally this is done within 24 hours following receiving your vaccination. You can also download the NHS app and follow the registration process. This will give you access to your health record including vaccinations.
