We want to sing the praises of the staff in the Small Injuries Unit at the Samuel Johnson. We have had to take our elderly mother (aged 96 ) there for change of dressings etc on a number of occasions and have always experienced a really friendly atmosphere and a high level of prompt medical treatment. Last night we had to take her there because of our serious concerns for her medical needs and welfare even though she had just earlier on been discharged from hospital. We cannot praise the staff highly enough . The receptionist facilitated a speedy assessment by the sister and a nurse and our mother's medical needs were dealt with. Even more importantly, they understood the concerns for her overall welfare and followed them up with the hospital . Our mother was readmitted to hospital late last night, following their helpful and speedy advice. We cannot thank or praise the staff enough. They took the immediate stress out of the situation and gave us a way forward. Brilliant treatment and the NHS at its best.
