I was taken to Charing Cross Hospital with Coronavirus and, after a day, transferred to Hammersmith Hospital. Heartfelt thanks to everyone - the ambulance staff, the nurses and doctors and support staff - for their kindness, efficiency, patience, discretion and care. They put their lives on the line in order to help others, and they do it with a smile and cheerfulness. Such dedication deserves unlimited appreciation. The treatment I received could not have been better.
At both hospitals, the nurses ensured that each individual was cared for in the best possible way. On the ward I was in at Hammersmith there was a lady who could not communicate very well, and they took time to put ribbons in her hair and played music which made such a difference for her. They ensured that those who could do nothing for themselves were cared for wonderfully. I was not very ill, but they still checked on me frequently and ensured that I did not need anything.
The followup after I left hospital was also excellent.
In many countries people pay a very high price for basic medical insurance and the treatment is not always as good.
The value of the NHS is incalculable and it must be preserved. It is a wonderful service. Don't ever let it go!
"Thank you - superb care"
