I’m afraid I am extremely disappointed with my recent move to Victoria Medical Centre. They should be praised for the vaccination program but as a GP surgery we have found it almost impossible to make an appointment to speak to a doctor. This is due to the crazy call wait times which, in my experience, have been at all times of day. I have phoned the surgery to try and book an appointment on 4 separate occasions in the last few months and every time I have had to wait over an hour for the phone to be answered. I have currently been on the phone for over 1 hour and 25 minutes waiting for the phone to be answered so I can book an appointment to speak to a doctor. I am still only ‘7 in the queue’ waiting to be answered. This is far too long for any unwell person to have to wait to be spoken to and completely impossible and impractical for working individuals as I can’t expect my employer to allow me to be on the phone for over an hour waiting to book an appointment to speak to a doctor.
What is also very disheartening is that I know this issue has been raised by countless people and the surgery has said they are dealing with it. However, in my experience, I cannot see any improvement, in fact I have found it worse.
