"The care I received after my sons birth"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Maternity care (Wards 47, 48 & 50)

(as a service user),

After having a traumatic birth experience, the situation   was made ten times easier by the lovely midwife Marj I had caring for us on the ward for the next 2 days. When we were readmitted the day after going home, Marj would pop into my room every day to see how my son was getting on and just always made us feel safe and cared for at such a scary time. Nothing was too much for her and she would do anything she could to make us feel settled and at ease for the week we were on the ward the second time. I wish I could thank her for everything she done for us.

Dear Andyandy,

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your son and thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the QEUH.

I am delighted that the care you received following what was a difficult experience for you was supported by Marj, one of our theatre midwives.

I will share your feedback with the wider team, and I'm sure Marj will be glad to know that the care and support she provided had such a positive experience for you.

Best wishes,

Mairi McDermid

Lead Midwife
