"i was alcohol dependant"

About: Change Grow Live Cambridgeshire / Wisbech

(as a service user),

I was alcohol dependant and heard about CGL from a friend and joined and my key worker was Dawn, I was almost dead at the start of my treatment with lots of Physical and mental health problems and I just kept coming back.

Dawn kept supporting and believed im me which made a difference and I started to believe in myself

I love coming to cgl and feel it is like a  family .

if I had not learnt the tools from cgl i would not be where I am now. I would go as far to say that cgl are better than mental health.

I feel that in cgl you get 2in1 here. I get the brain therapy here. We are not born as addicts and what we have support with moulds the person that we are and can become.

Dawn has enabled me to realise that I am a nice person  and has made me aware of where i need to be caution around me being too soft.

I will always be a part of cgl and will continue to grow in my recovery, I can never learn too much.

I have now been sober for 18months. .

Hi jayden13

What a lovely message. 18 months is a long time so a huge well done. You have described the ideal path. being encouraged to attend by someone else, engaging in what is on offer and taking on the 'tools' to continue your recovery.

I am so pleased you feel so comfortable coming to us and getting what you need.

Thanks and keep going and Im sure you are supporting others too.

Paul
