"My dad"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Rapid Access Clinic

(as a service user),

Dad was welcomed into the rapid access clinic and we were both offered a cup of tea or coffee. My dad who is scared of hospital appointments was made feel at ease. His blood pressure & weight and bloods were taken as he explained to the nurses the problems he had been experiencing. The staff were excellent. The Dr came in to ask him further questions to explain to the consultant. The consultant came in & discussed possible solutions. A plan was agreed upon and a further appointment was made for a weeks time. My dad who has Parkinson’s disease was made feel at ease and understood as he has been suffering with a number of problems. The GP had referred him to the clinic and all the staff were absolutely excellent & so understanding. Once we arrived home a further phone call was received by the doctor on follow up and what was discussed with the team. All the staff worked really hard to try and come up with a long term solution. We are so lucky to have such brilliant dedicated understanding NHS staff at Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. I will share this with the team. They really are a great group of staff. They are privileged to work in RAC with access to meeting people like your dad whom they can care for and make a difference.
