My 90 year grandad was taken into QE over the weekend via ambulance, on arrival we were told that he had to go to CDU to be assessed, once we arrived we were greeted by a very angry abrupt nurse who was extremely rude to myself and the ambulance crew that brought him in, at first I let it go as I know how overworked the NHS has been, over the course of the night into early hours she became even more rude and vile to myself and the hospital porters transferring patients, we were told my grandad was due to receive an IV drip and after an hour of waiting I asked her what was happening for her to get close to my face and tell me she was busy and that the hospital is terrible and patients are made to wait for everything, I asked her to move away from me and she carried on ranting about the patients and the hospital in general. She was sitting at a small computer screen in the middle of the ward shouting out questions to patients which were personal!
I did mention it to a member of a&e staff who advised me to complain to the Head of the ward, but due to being worried about my grandad I hesitated as I was concerned how he would be treated once I had left!
I am still angry and upset about it now and hope no one else has to deal with this vile lady!
