The receptionist staff at L and D a and E are shockingly bad. I have visited a and e 3 times this month and the lack of empathy they show to patients is absurd. One of the staff stated that ‘ I can act and scream’ when a woman was in pain. I was very disheartened to hear this as it was clear she was in a lot of pain.
Please please employ people that have a sense of empathy. I can appreciate they are busy, but so are the doctors, health care professionals and nurses. However, they were brilliant during my time.
Again- the receptionist are first point of contact, employ better people.
