We had a phone appointment on 26.05.2021 with a doctor. My little boy was complaining about pain in his throat. I checked his mouth and I noticed a huge lump at his back of his mouth/throat. I wasn't sure if it is his tonsil or something else. We had to wait 5 hours for the doctor to call back, he was arrogant , careless, did not take me serious. He did not even listen what are my little boys symptoms. I asked him to invite us in as I am worried his air way is going to get blocked, he cannot even eat. He was complaining that he is going away for a week , maximum what he can do just to transfer us to a NURSE next day. Today we went 11.45 to see a nurse, who was saying it is normal to have a big tonsil if there is a little cold. ( there was no signs of colt or anything- only the discomfort in the throat). She did not prescribe anything to us. We were inside for 3 minutes, she did not carry out a full examination, just checked my sons throat and sent us away.
Now we are on our way to the hospital as I noticed my son cannot eat or drink, because he was almost choking. His temperature is 40.4 degrees and ibuprofen and calpol is not helping at all.
I explained my concerns when we had both phone appointment with the doctor and on the appointment with the nurse as well , but the gp practice did not do theirs job and just sent away a sick little boy who is suffering.
Definitely going to make a formal complaint about this.
