I started having pain and bleeding so phoned the GAU (gynae assessment unit). They gave me an appointment for the following day. Everyone was so kind to me and took really good care of me.
I had to return to get the prescribed blood thinners and was given a prescription for the hospital pharmacy. There, I had to wait about 20 minutes to hand in the prescription and then over half an hour for the medication. It’s a very small room and it was hard to have to wait so long whilst bleeding.
There was another lady there, who I also saw at GAU, who I suspect was going through the same, trying to fight back the tears.
I don’t at all blame the staff, but maybe there could be a different system to prevent people like us having to wait in the pharmacy for so long?
