I don’t generally tend to leave reviews but having been seen at St. Peter’s A&E yesterday I felt I needed to. My GP sent me to A&E as I was experiencing palpitations and very high blood pressure. As a sufferer of health anxiety I was obviously not keen but attended as I was concerned with my health. I booked in at the Urgent Treatment Centre which was quick & easy and was sent across to A&E. I was seen very quickly by several medical staff who were all very friendly, helpful and mindful of my anxiety. Of course there were periods of waiting around but I felt safe in the waiting area where screens had been placed between each seat for protection from Covid. Despite being busy & pressured all staff were friendly & courteous at all times. All in all I was seen and treated within 3.5 hours & discharged with advice from the consultant (who incidentally remembered me & updated me on my results while I was waiting in reception, despite being hugely busy!). I can’t thank the staff enough for their help and reassurance during what was a very worrying time and I would wholeheartedly recommend the service. My only negative (and it is a small one) was that it was very warm in reception and in the triage areas, which did exacerbate my condition slightly, but I was able to wait just inside the main entrance where it was a lot cooler, which helped!) Thank you so much to the staff at St Peter’s A&E, and indeed all NHS staff for your incredible dedication and work.
"Cannot praise St Peter’s enough! "
