I fell on two occasions in 2020 and broke my lower left arm - both bones. After I came out of plaster and completed the 3 Zoom sessions of physiotherapy with my local hospital trust, my GP referred me to the Falls & Fracture prevention team.
Initially I was assessed by telephone by Angela and referred for a bone mineral density scan - Angela promptly followed the results up and wrote to my GP recommending medication for osteoporosis that the scan had identified. She then arranged for the Bromley F & F team get in touch.
At a time when I can not even see my GP, Laura, a physiotherapist in the team, visited me at home, did a thorough assessment, identified that I suffered from a benign vertigo, and carried out a manipulation that has greatly improved matters.
I was then contacted for the supporting 12 week exercise programme on Zoom, yet Tracey visited me at home to take me through the exercises I would be doing in the Zoom class - and came back at the end of the programme to assess the progress made.
I can not praise the team, including Joan, highly enough, a GREAT TEAM! who rebuilt my confidence and took seriously things like my dizziness, that had been dismissed at my hospital trust as not being relevant.
"I can not praise the team highly enough"
