"Feeling well after my sigmoid colectomy"

After many years of suffering terrible discomfort and pain from Diverticulitis. I was was diagnosed with a fistula caused by the Diverticulitis, a connection between my bowel and bladder. Causing further discomfort and pain, water infections, and regular antibiotics. I was admitted to hospital in March 2021.

I would like to thank consultant surgeon Mr McDermott at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital for his diagnosis and subsequent surgery, and all the staff involved in my surgery. I would also like to thank all the the staff on Mere ward following my surgery and recovery. The care I received was excellent and I can’t thank you all enough. Your dedication and professionalism was truly exemplary, especially in these covid-19 times.

Once again thank you Mr McDermott and your team. It is now 10 weeks from my surgery, and I haven’t felt this good and well for many years. You don’t know how ill you were until you're better.
