I have attended GlenOaks for 21 years. I like it because the friends I have made throughout these years.
I enjoy the Drama where I surprised myself in what I could achieve, this has increased my confidence and self-esteem.
I take part in Art, Pottery, Music and Photography classes, my days in the centre are very fulfilling.
Over the past few years I have achieved a 2nd and 3rd place in the Credit Union Competition. My ambition is to achieve a 1st in this competition this year.
I have always enjoyed attending GlenOaks however, in recent years, I appreciate the Centre even more since my mother passed away five years ago. Attending the centre after her passing was a great distraction and helped me deal with my grief. The staff were very attentive, supportive and were available to talk about how I was feeling. This as well as days out, learning and trying new activities and having other members of the centre be there for me was invaluable.
During my time at GlenOaks, I have participated in various activities and classes. One class I enjoyed in particular was the “Cook It” class. Margaret and Lynda organised and ran the programme. I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to cook new recipes safety as well as having fun with friends.
The care is very good at GlenOaks. The staff are very enthusiastic to everyone and provide all types of care in a professional manner. I have a strong trust with the staff and can talk to them about anything.
"The staff are very enthusiastic to everyone"
