I came in to fit a mirena coil for my heavy and painful menstrual flow. Prior to this day, my menstrual flow had begin to affect my quality of life. It was too heavy and painful and sometimes would make me dizzy. I would take tranexamic acid tablets and naproxen just so the flow was easier to manage. I had a chat with my GP, then one of the staff at the sexual health clinic and they both recommended fitting a coil. I had to wait a while to get this done due to the pandemic. Whilst it was my turn, I had a telephone consultation with one of the nurses at the clinic after which an appointment was scheduled for the fitting.
On the day of my appointment, the staff were very professional and really nice. The consultant was very friendly, chatted with me throughout the procedure and the health care assistant with him was extremely helpful too. They both made me relax through the uncomfortable procedure.
I am very well pleased with the service received on this day.
