"The kindness and support of nurses"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery

(as the patient),

I awaited heart surgery. I attended pre assessment and was overwhelmed by everything despite the staff being kind and understanding. I contacted my surgeons secretary asking if surgeon could call me again as I didn't know how I would cope after surgery. Instead I received a call from Lindsay the nurse specialist, she explained everything too me but more importantly she listened to me. When I was admitted she came to see me on the ward simply to say hi and offer a friendly voice at a time I was allowed no visitors.  I immediately felt at ease. When I went to surgery the staff picked me up on trolley and we had a laugh. I cannot thank all the staff at the golden jubilee enough. The staff cannot do enough for you and are so under appreciated. Thank you all for gifting me my life back.

Dear cyclonetb97,

Thank you so much for taking the time to send such lovely feedback, especially regarding Lindsay, please be assured we will let her know of your kind words. I am sure she will be delighted as its always nice to hear from patient when we make a difference to their journey here at the Golden Jubilee. I will also inform the other staff in the ward etc of your comments.

I hope you are getting back to a normal life following your surgery, best wishes for the future.

Kind regards
