After having biopsies done in April, my appointment was to get the results and have a polyp removed. My appointment was at 11.45am. One other person was in front of me and they were kept waiting 45 minutes. The receptionist at 12.30pm asked me if I was still waiting and she went to find out what was happening. Whoever she spoke to knew I was still there. At this time the room opposite the reception filled up with staff and their microwave lunches, someone was sent out to get a knife to cut up the cake.
By 12.45pm I was getting more agitated and told the only person still wandering around that I was about to leave if I wasn't seen. So I went in to be told that the biopsy was inconclusive and would have to be done again. In addition he had no intention of removing the polyp that day. After a one hour and half hour drive to get to the appointment and to be kept waiting for an hour, unsurprisingly I was very annoyed. I had wasted journey as someone surely could have called me and made another appointment to have the procedure repeated. My appointment could have been used by someone else and I now have another 6 or 8 week wait for an appointment.
