Where to start? An awful automated phone service that can take up to 5minutes to go through the options, only to have to start again when told they can’t take your call. It is possibly the worst automated phone service I’ve encountered and is deliberately so to dishearten patients from bothering them. You can only call 8-10am for urgent calls, for non-urgent you have to call between 10-11:30am then they have a break and you can’t call until after 1am, by which point there’ll be no bookings left. You can only book appointments within 2days. You will not see your GP, it’s literally been years since I’ve seen my actual GP, who knows me and my condition, instead you get put with any doctor/nurse most often at a completely different practice anywhere in York, most cases the other medical staff have been good, but unfortunately there’s the occasional exception - though this is understandable and in all walks of life. If you are hoping to receive a prescription, fit note, call back etc good luck! You may end up waiting weeks, and you’ll almost certain have to call to remind them.
I understand that things are currently ‘unprecedented’ given lockdown but this is just completely unacceptable from a health care service.
Ever since the service changed to ‘York Medical Group’ it has been an utter shambolic joke that needs urgent attention.
