About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

First of all I would like to thank the 20 or so staff I spoke to on my visit. Without them none of this would have been possible

But this also makes me wonder how disjointed the services in A&E are since I had to see so many people and go in and out of different rooms multiple times

I came in an ambulance with chest pain and found out I had blood clots in my lungs. I had to stay over night for a ct scan. I got my results within about 2 hours of the scan but it took a further 14 hours to get my medicine so I could be discharged. Complete waste of a hospital bed but I am grateful to the staff nevertheless

I was referred to 2 services upon discharge for further investigation but two weeks later I have not heard from anybody and I have made 27 phone calls today to multiple departments who have all passed the buck and nobody is willing to help me. I was even told that there are no referrals on the system for me, so I can’t even get an appointment

I left a message for the consultant and they haven’t gotten back to me. It seems I have zero way to move forward, get my scans and check for progress

DVT and 2 blood clots in my chest but I’ve been left totally on my own

Thank you James for this valuable feedback. I’m glad that you found the staff you spoke to helpful, and will pass your thanks to them. I’m sorry that other aspects of your visit were not as they should have been, and we will use your feedback to learn from and improve. I hope you have had some progress with your enquiries since posting this, but if you are still having difficulties and need help, please get in touch with the patient experience team at QMCPET@nuh.nhs.uk.

With best wishes
