"Dedicated and helpful team at colonoscopy"

Arriving at the Victoria Hospital in early May, I was greeted at the front door by a member of staff who was very welcoming and escorted me to the Endoscopy department with no rush and time for conversation.

During the procedures the nurses and doctors were very helpful and ensured at all times that I was comfortable during the examination of my bowel. However, that was just the beginning!

Having my problem with not being able to express my responses to questions, the first nurse to speak to me helped me significantly to overcome my speech disability and she took time to help me answer her questions successfully. Big help number one!

Moving on to the endoscopy suite, I found myself surrounded by about six helpful and jolly personnel, whose only concern was to ensure that I was comfortable at all times, with frequent comments such as "Are you OK?", "Can we gently move you on to your left hand side", "You are doing really, really well", "Knees right up, that's fine", which was a great comfort throughout the whole procedure.

Two polyps were removed successfully.

There were too many people to thank and remember at the time as I was wheeled out, but very grateful for having such dedicated staff.

Afterwards, my wife and I were informed by Wendy and Robert about the next step in my progress and once again both were hugely supportive.

It was also helpful to have Jodi in place to chat to us before leaving the hospital. Thank you.
