"Hugely disappointing"

About: The Stoke Road Surgery,

I almost laughed when this system insisted that my last visit MUST have been within the last two years.

The plain fact is that 'visits' are becoming a distant dream.

As a Bishops Cleeve resident and patient of this practice for nearly forty years, I can attest that the quality of service delivered has done nothing but decline over that period. On the surface of it, there has been a great appetite to 'fend off' patients to the utmost point, the latest offering being yet another layer of 'triage' (i.e. obstructionism) in the form of 'e-consult', a further nice, little morsel for the private sector.

It is with simple regret that I warn this practice that there is a growing perception in Bishops Cleeve that Stoke Road is becoming a medical part-timers' hobby centre with declining interest in actually dealing with patients.

Thank you for your feedback – we welcome all feedback, and would like to understand better how we can address the issues you raise. We are unable to get further details from anonymous feedback, but if you have specific concerns please do contact us directly, and we will certainly look into them. We are sure you are aware that there is a huge increase in the workload being undertaken in primary care and Stoke Road is no different to the rest of the country in doing our very best to keep up the service in the face of enormous increases in patient needs and requests.
